Blythe Hill Fields Wayfinding & Signage — South LondonThe park had no legible signage and no council budget to fix it.
So we fixed it ourselves.
Working with the local community, we fundraised for an entirely new sign scheme from scratch — then designed it to do more than point people in the right direction. Written content from a local writer and historian, Katherine Hughes and a wildlife expert, from the London Wildlife Trust, gave each monolith a sense of place and story. The site was once home to a Victorian brick-making works, so every monolith carries a different brick pattern on its lower section — a quiet reference to the ground it stands on.
The result is four monolith signs and a fingerpost that feel like they belong. Because they were made by the people who do.
